March Wrap Up

Standard

This was a pretty great month! I managed to check off something I wanted to do this year, as well as check off something from the bucket list! And my goals for the year are still coming along nicely! ๐Ÿ™‚

Writing:ย Writing has been slow, but that’s okay. I do have a finished short story that needs some lines edits. This month I came up with a few new ideas, so I have someย plot bunnies growing. I also have been gathering ideas/images and putting them on a secret Pinterest board. So while my hands have been idle at the computer, my brain has been going non-stop.

Blogging:ย Look at me, being all consistent for three months. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I am having so much fun being here, and I love being interactive with YOU in the comments. Also, the author ofย The Devil’s Heart,ย Candace Osmond, loved the review I wrote and shared it to her author Facebook page! Sweet! ๐Ÿ˜€

The Book Pile:ย I am still on track with my goal. I just started the third compendium in The Walking Deadย series. Hubby got it for me at Christmas and I am finally sitting down with it. I will finish it soon and book six of the year will be under my belt.

Positive Vibes:ย I have added a lot of good things to my positivity journal. I didn’t take it when I went to Toronto, but I made notes and added them when I came home. My way of thinking has changed so much. I still have my bad days, but they don’t last as long as they did before. This journal has helped me with winter blues and my depression. This is one of the best things I have ever done.

Toronto Comic Con:ย This was on my personal list of big things to do this year. It was my first time there and I had so much fun! I now have ten comic cons under my belt. I hope I can get there next year as well.

Bucket List- The ROM:ย I have been wanting to go to the Royal Ontario Museum for the last five or six years. I was beyond thrilled when Mr. C was able to score us tickets for my last day in Toronto. Bonus: The Viking exhibit is happening right now, so we went to that first. I will be blogging about my time there soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

So, how was your March? Tell me about it in the comments!

My ‘The Walking Dead’ Obsession and Newest Autograph

Standard

I’m a fangirl, plain and simple. I don’t care how old I get, I will always be one.

I have been obsessed with the world of ‘The Walking Dead’ when my fiance got me addicted to it the first season. Two years ago the reason we went to Fan Expo Toronto was because I REALLY wanted to meet Norman Reedus, aka Daryl Dixon. That’s what spurred it on. With me saying “Ohhhh my God we have to goooooooo!” ๐Ÿ˜‰ I got to meet four actors that year, and three last year. (So all in all, Daryl. Merle, Glenn, Maggie, Andrea, Michonne, and The Governor.)

And TWD merchandise is always on gift lists. And every Sunday during the season, we never miss an episode. My phone gets turned off and I want zero distractions. (Although Mr. C would say I am a distraction since I get verbal when I talk to the screen. Good thing he can put up with me.)

So that brings me to my next bit of news. I have yet to meet Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes. But writing fan mail has yet again paid off!

‘To Kerry, Big Zombie Love.’ My favorite one this year!

I am very stoked with my newest addition. I gave up a bit on getting one. Mr. C got two out of three since he wrote to three addresses available for Andrew. So when he got two back and I got none, I figured that third address was a dud. But apparently not!

Do you watch The Walking Dead? Who is your fave character?

Happy New Year!

Standard

Just stopping by to say that I hope you all had a great New year’s ๐Ÿ™‚ We had a quiet night in, which worked for me. I was very content in my Sons Of Anarchy onsie, eating snacks while watching ‘Boston Legal’. (Which Mr. C has recently got me hooked on.)

After going to my mom’s for dinner, we came home and I promptly got back into my pj’s, sat with my iced coffee and one of my new books.

One of my newest additions to my book shelf is the Sons of Anarchy companion book. I am on page 48 and could be farther but I am taking my sweet time with it. I am absorbing every single word, detail and photo that is in this book. If you are a fan this is a MUST have. When I unwrapped it, I squealed like a teenager and smelled it. (Yeah, that’s right. I smelled it.) For the record, it smelled wonderful.

The writing is very well done, the photos are beautiful, the book as a whole is an amazing quality. Not only am I learning more on the process/thoughts from the creator, Kurt Sutter, but the other actors chime in as well. I am totally, absolutely, in love with this book and I am going to take my time enjoying every page.

I hope that your first day of the year is a great one! ๐Ÿ™‚ What are you up to?

Book finds!

My nerves are pretty much shot this morning. Like any fangirl (or boy), the latest episode of my fave show has me in knots. I have mentioned before about being a HUGE fan of Sons Of Anarchy. The newest episode was great, and I have a sick feeling what the series finale is going to bring. (Spoiler: I was pretty pissed at first when Jax had sex with an ex just after killing two people. My fiance said “Think of it, this will probably be his last time. He’s totally getting killed next week.” Me: goes into total silence and denial.)

So to settle my nerves, I hit the local library to check out their table with books for sale. I was lucky yet again to find a couple of gems. I bought ‘Divergent’ for just one dollar, and ‘Safe Haven’ by Nicholas Sparks for fifty cents. I haven’t read any of his novels in a long time so I’m looking forward to reading this.

I’m pretty happy with my new finds. More books added to the winter reading pile ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you watch Sons Of Anarchy, what did you think of last nights episode? Have you read either of these books? Tell me what you think!! I haven’t seen the movie for ‘Divergent’, and I’m wondering how the book and movie compare. The book is always better! At least in my experience. ๐Ÿ™‚
